How to Use the Website

Choose a language
Start from All Languages. Each language has its own page with first words, lessons and videos.

Try a short lesson
Lessons take about ten minutes and go one step at a time, ending with flashcards and a friendly quiz.

Watch and listen
Adele TV has stories, songs and words in different languages. Videos start only when you press play.

Practise and play
Flashcards and quizzes help words stick. Progress is remembered only on your own device.
Ideas for Home and the Classroom
- Little and often works best: ten minutes a few times a week beats one long session.
- Say new words out loud together, and use them during the day: greetings at breakfast, colours on a walk, numbers on the stairs.
- Let children choose the language and the activity. Curiosity is the best teacher.
- In class, show a video or a flashcard deck on the board and answer the quiz together.
- Celebrate trying, not only getting it right. Every new word is a step.

Safety and Privacy
- Children never have accounts, and there are no comments, no public messaging and nothing for children to upload. Children never need to type their name.
- Progress in flashcards, quizzes and lessons is kept only in your own browser, and you can clear it at any time.
- There is no advertising and no tracking. Videos load from the video service only when someone presses play.
- Everything that shows Adele, or uses her voice or words, is approved by a parent before it is published.

What age is the website for?
It is designed for young children exploring languages, ideally with a parent, carer or teacher nearby.
Do children need an account?
No. Children never have accounts. Progress is remembered in the browser on your device, and only there. Grown-ups can create a parent account if they’d like to collect Book Points from Quiz & Win or use the bookshop.
Who checks the words and pronunciation?
Words are checked by someone who speaks the language well before they are marked as checked. Recordings always say whose voice they are, and no voices are made by computer.
Can I use the resources in my classroom?
Each resource has a usage note beside its download button. If you would like to use something in a different way, please get in touch.
How do I clear my child’s progress?
Use the “Clear my progress” button on this page, or on the Flashcards, Quizzes and Learning Hub pages. It clears progress on this device only.
